Will halt Orange Train project if education, health sectors won't get improved: CJP
No compromise on education and health of the citizens will be tolerated, CJP clarified.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday has warned Punjab government of halting Orange Line Train project if education and health sectors won’t get better.
A two member bench headed by CJP heard the suo moto case at Supreme Court (SC) Lahore registry.
During the proceeding, CJP remarked that machines in hospitals are not working properly and no one is paying attention to it. No compromise on education and health of the citizens will be tolerated, he clarified.
He also directed all medical superintendents to hold meeting and submit SOPs, continuing that the court wants to support you instead of discouragement.
On the occasion, owners of medical colleges and chief executive officers were also present.
In the previous hearing, CJP said, “Every private medical college is making its own merit as yesterday, I was informed that Rs6.42 lac is being taken from the students but today, the amount has escalated to Rs9 lac.”
The judge ordered to transfer all the cases related to medical colleges’ fee to the apex court, adding that SC will formulate the fee structure itself.
On the other hand, vice chancellors of nine universities in a case pertaining to affiliating non-standard law colleges had also been summoned on January 20.
These universities included Punjab University, Peshawar University, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Islamia University, Gomal University, Balochistan University, Karachi University, University of Sindh and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai University.
CJP Mian Saqib Nisar had also sought details of eligibility of the law colleges and asked to submit the respective documents in this regard
