Snowfall, rain expected in parts of country within next 24 hours

The plain areas of Punjab will witness heavy jog, according to Met Office

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Met Office on Wednesday forecasted snowfall and rain during the next 24 hours in parts of the country.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the "westerly wave is likely to approach northwestern parts of the country” on Thursday. The westerly wave will persist in these areas in the coming 24 hours, the daily weather report added.

The Met Office has forecasted rain and thunderstorm is at scattered places like Malakand and Hazara divisions. Rain is also expected at isolated places including Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Quetta, Zhob divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

Also, it is likely that there will be snowfall over the hills. The plain areas of Punjab as well as upper Sindh are expected to witness dense foggy conditions. The fog will prevail over these areas during the night and early hours of the morning.
