Incumbent govt not getting unstable, says Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Thursday has said that the incumbent government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is not getting unstable due to ongoing political unrest.

Talking to media, foreign minister expressed hope that the assemblies will complete their tenure, adding that criticism is opposition’s right. He said that peace was restored in the country due to the struggle of Pakistan Army.

Meanwhile, he also pledged solidarity with the people of Palestine and said that the Muslims should brush aside personal differences and work for one-point agenda for providing rights to Palestine and Kashmir.

He said Pakistan suggested that the matter of Palestine could be raised at the forum of General Assembly and Security Council.  

On the other hand, Khawaja Asif along with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif reached London on late Wednesday to meet former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Important decision regarding political issues in the country will be taken during a meeting scheduled for today (Thursday). They will also inform the former prime minister regarding major developments in Pakistan’s politics.

Sources said that ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who was scheduled to return to Islamabad today, has delayed his return. Sources informed that the holding of the forthcoming general elections will top the agenda of today’s meeting.
