PMLN's MPA Ghulam Sialwi resigns to protest Faizabad crackdown

Army Chief has urged for peaceful resolution.

SARGODHA (Dunya News)- Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s provincial lawmakers from Sargodha MPA Sahibzada Ghulam Nizamuddin Sialwi has resigned in the wake of crackdown against protestors staging sit-in at Faizabad interchange.

Sialwi has urged all his followers to relinquish PMLN’s membership and urged his followers to relinquish from all government’s offices.

Another PMLN’s National Assembly lawmaker Sheikh Waqas Akram has asked government to release arrested workers with immediate effect.He has also threatened to relinquish the NA’s seat whereas asked State minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rehman to resign.

Meanwhile, Army Chief Qamar Bajwa has telephoned Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and has suggested him to solve the issue peacefully. On the other hand, at least one policeman has been killed and over 100 protestors have been injured across country as protests continue unabated.
