Unethical act to target civilian population, Pak DGMO tells Indian counterpart
Both DGMOs from Pakistan and Indian established hotline contact after LoC ceasefire violations
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistani Director General Military Operations (DGMO) on Saturday told Indian counterpart that the act of targeting civilian population was immoral and unprofessional on their part.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in its press statement, “An unscheduled Pak-India DGMO Hot Line contact was made today,” adding that the Indian Army was conveyed that continued deliberate targeting of innocent civilians along LOC lately in Nezapir, Chirikot and Battal sectors is highly unprofessional and unethical.
He further informed to the neighbouring state that such provocations are causing loss of innocent civilian lives and are potentially dangerous to invoke an unbearable response.
It should be mentioned that Islamabad had summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces in Chirikot and Nezapir sectors on November 17. The unprovoked firing resulted in the shahadat of 2 civilians, namely Rasheeda Begum who is a resident of Truthi village and Muhammad Haneef who is a resident of Nezapir. The incident also caused and injuries to 5 others, including 2 women.
According to FO, Indian forces have carried out more than 1300 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control which resulted in the martyrdom of 52 innocent civilians and injuries to 170 others In 2017 to date, as compared to 382 ceasefire violations in 2016.
