77 countries struck by terror attacks in 2017, Pakistan 5th most terror affected country: IEP
Institute for Economics and Peace released the Global Terrorism index
WASHINGTON (Dunya News) – Institute for Economics and Peace has released the global terrorism index. According to the report, 77 countries were stuck with terror attacks in 2017 while Pakistan was revealed as the 5th most terror affected country.
The report indicated that casualties due to terrorist attacks reduced by 22 percent in 2017 compared to the previous years. Iraq topped the list of terror affected countries, while Pakistan was the 5th most affected. However, Pakistan’s name was excluded from the list of 20 most dangerous countries with regard to terrorism.
The report showed that the most dangerous terrorist attack was carried out in Palmyra, Syria which resulted in 433 casualties.
