Fazl also hinted at announcing the future of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) after November 9

PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Two major political parties of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F), have come head to head on the issue of Federally Administered Tribal Areas’ (FATA) merger into KP, reported Dunya News.

As ANP leader Asfandyar Wali Khan stressed on the merger, JUI-F leader immediately summoned a grand tribal jirga to discuss the situation.

Briefing the media after the jirga, Fazl completely rejected the idea of merging FATA into KP. He said that the policy to merge FATA into KP must be reviewed and the opinion of the people of FATA must be held supreme in the matter.

He even termed the speeches made by KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in the provincial assembly regarding the merger of FATA into KP as an act of poking nose into an alien business.

Fazl also hinted at announcing the future of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) after November 9. The Grand Tribal Jirga also decided on establishing FATA Supreme Council to review the issue of FATA’s merger.

The JUI leader also rejected the idea of early elections by dissolving assemblies, saying the demand was an act of immaturity by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
