Balloting for Supreme Court Bar Association elections underway
The voting time for the election is from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Balloting for the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) elections is on Tuesday underway in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Bahawalpur and Abbottabad.
The voting time for the election is from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM. 44 candidates are contesting the election for 22 seats. A close competition for the seat of president is anticipated between Syed Muhammad Kaleem Ahmed Khursheed and Hafiz Abdul Rehman Ansari, candidates of Asma Jehangir-led Independent group and Hamid Khan’s Professional group respectively.
There are 2,289 registered voters for the SCBA elections, and majority of them belong to Lahore. Chairman Election Board Afrasiyab Khan is monitoring the election.
