ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Accountability courts are proceeding the hearings with regard to NAB references against Nawaz Sharif. While the former prime minister filed another appeal to challenge the references in Supreme Court two days ago after the first appeal was rejected by the SC’s registrar, pointing out certain objections.

NAB had filed four corruption references against the Sharifs and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad’s accountability court last month following the SC’s order.

The references against the Sharif family pertain to the Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metals Establishment, their London properties and over dozen offshore companies owned by the family.

PML-N Chairman also requested the apex court to consider the appeal for hearing, citing that it is not within registrar’s domain to reject appeals. Nawaz Sharif has filed another appeal today and requested the court to consider the hearing of appeal, filed against registrar’s authority on November 2.

Last month, SC had dismissed review petitions filed by the ousted PM and his children against the Panama Leaks case.
