Foreign Minister stated that both countries agreed to restore trust by holding dialogue

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday said that Pakistan and the United States (US) have agreed to restore trust through dialogue, adding that he even told the US to clean their house.

“Apart from ‘do more and no more’, both have agreed to restore trust,” he stated during his today’s interview on Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath.

In the light of US President Donald Trump’s remarks that the soil of Pakistan has been used to harbour terrorists, he stressed that he has even told the US to clean their house. He refuted to all such allegations and hoped for a more cooperative environment between the two states.

He said, “It is for the first time that civil and military leadership gave joint narrative … (US State Secretary) Tillerson was also briefed on the Kashmir conflict.”

Khawaja Asif told that the US has been briefed about Islamabad’s stance regarding militancy in Afghanistan. He said 45 percent of the Afghan land is under Taliban’s control and that they use this territory to launch attacks on Pakistani soil. They don’t need Pakistani territory to launch attacks, he said.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson got a frosty welcome to Pakistan today. Tillerson met civil and military leadership of Pakistan including PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa and other important persons.
