Finance department admitted to giving foreign loans to Punjab companies, avoided further comments

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Another controversy has been revealed in a scandal uncovered by Dunya News regarding Punjab companies.

According to the details, finance department confessed that Punjab government has been violating the ‘Information Act’. Finance department made it clear that foreign loans were issued to the companies and terms of agreement prevent the department from revealing further information.

The finance department referred all queries to the federal government, stressing that any further information will be revealed only after permission is granted from the federal government.

Irregularities worth 170 Million Rupees have been discovered in Gujranwala WASA’s purchase deals of cars, machinery and spare parts.

It has been requested in the report sent to Secretary Municipality to register FIRs against the officers responsible.

WASA in Faisalabad was also ahead in the scandal. WASA, Faisalabad had contracts worth 1.5 Billion Rupees with a Turkish company and transferred 90 of its employees to the company. Just after this news was aired on Dunya News, WASA laid off 90 grade 4 employees on work charge but saved the big fish of the company. MD WASA made it clear that more workers would be dismissed in the coming days.

Rawalpindi Cattle Management Company is also involved in the scandal. Only time will determine what actions will be taken by the Punjab govt against this scandal.
