Pence said that the United States would better terms with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – United States vice president Mike Pence has telephoned Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday and thanked him for successful security operation to rescue held Canadian family.

Reportedly, the US vice president said that the authorities are thankful to the government of Pakistan to help recover the captives. He lauded immediate and impeccable operational preparedness of the armed forces as well as intelligence agencies of Pakistan.

Pence said that the United States would better terms with Pakistan for peace and stability in the region.

Prime Minister Abbasi reiterated government’s stance to weed-out corruption in Pakistan and said that the state would act on any credible intelligence provided by the United States.

Pakistan Army had acted on an intelligence provided by the United States earlier this month and taken the operation from there on to successfully rescue a Canadian man, his wife and kids from Taliban captivity.

Director General of military’s media cell Major General Asif Ghafoor had thanked President Donald Trump among United States authorities in a press briefing about the operation last week.

According to the reports, US vice president has taken up Prime Minister Abbasi on his invitation to visit Pakistan.
