Transporters end strike in Faisalabad

A case has been lodged against 250 unknown students.

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Transporters on Saturday have ended strike against students’ move to set as many as six buses ablaze in Faisalabad after a speeding bus crushed their classmate to death.

The decision was taken during a meeting of transport association called by General Secretary. A case has also been lodged against 250 unknown students under Anti-Terrorism Act.

On the other hand, Islamia School has also been closed for indefinite time period to avoid any untoward situation.



Earlier on Friday, a bus ran over a 20 year-old child Haider and killed him when he was trying to board it.

The enraged students vehemently protested and burned six buses after which, the transporters completely closed the Lorry Bus Stand and announced strike.

Police reached the scene and dispersed the students over assurance to arrest the bus driver.
