LAHORE (Dunya News) – Enthusiastic workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) took to streets and whole-heartedly celebrated the victory of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz in NA-120 by-elections.

The party activists passionatley danced on the beat of drums and held fireworks display to rejoice the win. They also distributed sweets among the people.

They raised slogans in favour of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and NA-120 candidate Kulsoom Nawaz. On the other hand, the workers strongly bashed Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for remaining unsuccessful in the polling.

Meanwhile, PML-N workers while violating section-144 resorted to aerial firing in Sanat Nagar area.

Celebrations were also held in other cities including Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan and Patoki.

On Sunday, PML-N won by-election of the National Assembly constituency NA-120 Lahore-III as the party’s candidate Kulsoom Nawaz beat her main opponent Dr Yasmeen Rashid of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) with a margin of 14,646 votes.

Begum Kulsoom won the seat, which fell vacant due to the disqualification of her husband and former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif by the Supreme Court in Panama Papers case.
