Quetta: Shopkeepers stage protest against demolition of market
Mutton Market near Bacha Khan Chowk was demolished by Quetta Metropolitan authorities on Sunday.
QUETTA (Dunya News) - Quetta Metropolitan authorities on Sunday demolished Mutton Market and nearby shops situated near Quetta’s Bacha Khan Chowk, Dunya News reported.
Shopkeepers staged protest and blocked roads by burning tyres when machinery from Metropolitan reached Bacha Khan Chowk to demolish shops and market.
Angry shopkeepers were of the view that they were treated unjustly. On the other hand, local authorities informed that the market and shops were constructed on government property and the court also announced its verdict in Quetta Metropolitan favour.
