Karachi: LEAs nab 7 alleged terrorists linked to TTP

KARACHI (Dunya News)- In bid to deracinate footholds of terror outfits from economic hub Karachi, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) on Saturday have nabbed seven alleged terrorists linked to banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Gulistan-e-Johar’s Alhabib society.

As per details garnered, LEAs busted terror network on secret tip-off and arrested seven terrorists while one managed to escape. Police also confiscated huge cache of arms from the hideout. Meanwhile, operation to arrest the terrorist at large is underway.

LEAs have expedited countrywide action against miscreants in wake of failed attempt on Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leader Khawaja Izhar’s life. On Thursday, police apprehended eight members of Ansarul Sharia from parts of the country.

Ansarul Sharia comprises members from country’s top varsities like NED, KU and DUET and was headed by Dr. Abdullah Hashmi who used to radicalize students. The members got training in lawless areas of war-torn Afghanistan and targeted police to garner eyeballs while started operations in the last quarter of 2015.

Authorities have blocked twitter account of ASP while private messages received from the accounts associated with the outfit are being investigated.
