Saadi Town amongst others remained completely flooded with water causing damage of property

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Heavy rain from time to time in Karachi has exposed the inability of district administration which appears helpless in averting the disastrous situation in several towns, including Saadi Town and Amarwah Society that are completely embedded with water.

Apart from 14 deaths in various accidents, there is a great danger of outbreak of diseases as a result of accumulation of water at a number of places. Homes, markets and roads are equally troubled by the sewerage water due to poor system.

Several dams were blown away by the water pressure due to flood in nullahs and lakes. Routes from Qayyumabad to Korangi Crossing have been blocked due to damage caused in lines of water board.

Eid-ul-Azha prayers at multiple Eidgahs have become unlikely due to water accumulation. Floods have caused unrest in Sarjani Town and Federal B Area. Also, unclean environment and garbage made the situation worse. Sewerage water outside mosques has disturbed prayers.

In wake of such disastrious situation, contingents of Pakistan Army, Sindh Rangers and Pak Navy helped locals with their rescue operations and rehabilitation services. Provincial and local government called them after admitting their inability to make necessary arrangements. The security officials used equipments to clear several areas including Liaqatabad, Petrol Pump Chorangi, Purana Golimar, Nagin Chorangi and others.
