Interior minister said the people are still living in 20th century and one should learn from China

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Addressing to the CPEC Consortium of Business Schools, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said the economic corridor has become flagship project of One Belt One Road, adding that China never disappointed Pakistan and vice versa.

“When we first started this project back in 2013, the economy wasn’t good. Security situation was deteriorating and everyone was claiming that Pakistan is heading towards an economic setback. Companies were leaving the country, but at that moment, China stood up with us,” he stated.

The interior minister further told that new projects have been launched to develop Gwadar Port, mentioning that China is better than us today, but Pakistan had per capita income of $300 with China’s $200 back in 1980. “We need to learn from China how they progressed and eradicated poverty. If a country has political stability then it is a magnet for economic growth,” he claimed.

Ahsan Iqbal highlighted the role of youth in progressing, saying that the young people need to prosper the economy by coming forward. He added that the aim of CPEC is not only to provide energy but also to create an industrial zone which will supply for the whole country.

If we want to deepen the ties between China and Pakistan then we have to build business to business (B2B) relations.
