Investigators find important evidence in Lahore blast

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Investigators have found some important evidence in connection with Monday’s suicide blast that took place near Arfa Karim Technology Park on Lahore’s Ferozepur Road, sources told Dunya News on Saturday.

According to sources, the scope of investigation has been broadened after alleged facilitators of the attack revealed identities of other accomplices.

Ten suspects belonging to various banned organizations have been interrogated so far, sources told.

At least 26 people were killed and dozens injured when the blast occurred in a busy vegetable market in Lahore on Monday afternoon.

Lahore s DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said that the blast was a suicide attack and that police were the target.

Another police officer said the bombing targeted policemen who were providing security for the Lahore Development Authority, which was involved in demolition work targeting encroachments nearby. Anti-riot police had been deployed for the activity.
