Pakistani baby undergoes successful surgery in India

(Web Desk) – Rohaan, a four-month-old Pakistani baby was successfully treated at a hospital in Nodia- Jaipur, Rajasthan in India.

According to a statement issued by Jaypee Hospital, Rohaan was suffering from “D-transportation of great arteries with abnormal origin of main arteries from opposite chambers with multiple VSD and severe pulmonary hypertension”.

His father, Kamal Siddiqui tweeted to external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and Sartaj Aziz in May, about his inability in getting a medical visa to India for his son’s treatment, due to the prevailing tensions between the two countries.



After a series of tweets from Siddiqui and other Twitter users from India and Pakistan, Sushma Swaraj took notice of the case and replied back to the father, according to The Indian Express.



Rohaan and his parents were granted a medical visa and they traveled to India on June 12 following with his treatment which started at a private hospital in Nodia.

After a successful operation, the doctors have kept Rohaan under observation. The four-month-old baby will fly back to Pakistan once the doctors grant him the permission.



Siddiqui, thanked Swaraj on a tweet for allowing them to travel to India. He said that his child’s “heart beats” for Swaraj while requesting the minister to further “open doors” for medical visas of other Pakistanis.
