The opposition leaders expressed their remarks in media talks.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The opposition parties have on Monday said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has remained truthful and honest no more, and the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan will decide the fate of the country.

The apex court resumed the hearing of Panama case today (Monday), and the opposition parties once again bashed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Nawaz Sharif while talking to media.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the whole nation is looking towards SC today, and it is a very important day of our history.

Qureshi said the future of Pakistan is linked with the direction of this case, and the history has given a big responsibility to the honorable judges of Supreme Court along with the politicians.

Shah Mehmood prayed for victory, and to put the country on right path by keeping personal interests aside. He prayed for Pakistan to get rid of the clutches of corruption that it is trapped in, and to lead towards progress, peace and stability.

He further added that members of PML-N themselves are now asking Nawaz Sharif to step down.

Awami Muslim League (AML) President Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed bashed the government and said it wants to delay the proceedings, and to take the country towards civil war. He said he has never seen such a shameful government in his entire life like this which is trying to harm the country just to save its own power.

Sheikh Rasheed said PML-N is continually blaming the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), and if it does not stop then I request the apex court to summon Nawaz Sharif and let me argue.

PTI leader Babar Awan claimed that two groups have been made in PML-N, and Maryam Group has defeated Nawaz Group. He added that Captain Safdar has taken the charge of Maryam Group, and the old companions of Nawaz Sharif have been pushed behind.

Babar Awan said that whichever group comes to attack, it will be defeated. He also accused PNL-N of distributing batons and money during the break in the proceedings.

Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Siraj-ul-Haq said in his media talk that the case is moving in right direction in the court, and every coming moment is dangerous for government in general, and for Sharif family in particular.

He added that the counsels of the government are fighting this case on political grounds instead of giving technical arguments according to the law. The rulers want to portray themselves as the oppressed and are looking for political martyrdom, he remarked.

Siraj-ul-Haq said that the ruling family and Nawaz Sharif have become ineligible under the Articles 62, 63 who used the floor of the parliament for his business purposes.

Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain hoped that the apex court would take such a decision that would take Pakistan to its right path, and determine new directions for it. The verdict will be remembered for years, and the work that should have been done by the parliament is being done by the SC, he added.

MQM Pakistan Chief Dr Farooq Sattar said Nawaz Sharif is left with no high moral grounds, and he should resign now. He said Nawaz should face the courts if any reference is forwarded against him.

Dr Farooq Sattar added that it is also a test for the institutions and for the parliament.
