ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday is chairing a meeting of the Federal Cabinet for briefing over Panama JIT report.

The meeting will also discuss overall political, security and economic situation in the country whereas it will also approve terms and conditions of the appointment of Member Gas, and Member Oil of Oil and Gas of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.

On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentary party meeting will be held in Islamabad on Friday to review Panama JIT report.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Prime Minister chaired a consultative meeting of his party leaders during which it was decided that PM Nawaz will not resign from his post.

In an address to the party leaders, it was said that no one will be allowed to hurt the public mandate. The attendees including legal experts and senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) members showed confidence in the premier. Nawaz Sharif said the allegations of not cooperating with the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for Panama case are baseless.

PM Nawaz made it clear that he will neither dissolve the assemblies nor resign from his position in a meeting to discuss course-of-action of the ruling party after JIT report

PM also demanded that contradictions in JIT report should also be brought forth in the Supreme Court. JIT had earlier recommended the apex court to lodge case against Nawaz Sharif and his sons in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

PML-N leaders said PM Nawaz was the most popular leader in Pakistan and people had elected him for five years, adding that they will make sure the public mandate remains intact.
