Negligence of Sindh government and civilian departments has made the rain a curse.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The rain water has continued to flood different streets in Karachi and important buildings like Sindh Assembly and Secretariat whereas Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has also predicted more rain in the metropolis.

The locals said that not a single government official took any notice to drain the stagnant water as a result of which the roads are showing a view of ponds.

Similar situation persists outside the departments of local government, information, Katchi Abadi Authority and fisheries.

Negligence of Sindh government and civilian departments has made the rain a curse and source of inconvenience for the Karachiites.

Sources told that Rangers officials on late Friday night cleaned Gujjar nullah by using heavy machinery after which the irked Karachi people thanked them and encouraged their effort.

On the other hand, PMD has said that more rains are likely to hit Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

The authorities were late to react to the disappointing situation. Although steps were taken by the government bodies and local authorities, damage had already been done.
