Punjab: Funds illegally earmarked for ministers, secretaries

LAHORE (Dunya News)- Funds worth millions were illegally earmarked for Punjab’s provincial ministers, parliamentary secretaries and for protocol purposes, reported Roznama Dunya on Thursday.
As per details available, funds were issued against clear directives of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif whereas a surge of 77pc was recorded in expenditures of Punjab s powerful bureaucracy in the previous fiscal year.
Sources privy to Punjab’s finance ministry, on condition of anonymity, further revealed that contingents of police have been deployed at houses of Education Minister Rana Mashood and Higher Education Secretary Syed Raza Ali Gillani and 15 to 35 government servants are present in their offices and houses respectively.
Similarly, the protocols of Rana Sanaullah, Zakia Shahnawaz and Bilal Yasin are comparatively large than usual.
