The SC will be hearing team's concerns two days ahead of PM Nawaz's appearance before the JIT.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) is set to hear the petition lodged by Joint Investigation Team (JIT) today (Monday) over alleged difficulties being faced by its members in the Panama Leaks probe.

The apex court is set to hear the reservations of the team a day after Additional Director General of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Wajid Zia filed a plea informing the bench of the threats, pressures and difficulties faced by the JIT members.

Zia is leading a JIT that is tasked by the top court to investigate prime minister’s family’s financial dealings abroad.

Though Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not named in the leaked documents however, his sons and daughter were held owners of multiple offshore companies which were seen by Pakistani opposition as means to stash wealth abroad evading taxes.

The top court will be hearing JIT’s issues two days ahead of PM Nawaz’s appearance before the team as he has been summoned to answer questions.
