Punjab government presented budget for the fiscal year 2017-18 worth Rs 1935 billion

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Finance Minister Ayesha Ghous Pasha presented provincial budget for fiscal year 2017-18 worth Rs. 1935 billion on Friday.

Initially, 10 percent raise in salaries and pensions of government employees has been recommend. Also, about six lac and seventy thousand people will receive loans in the Self-Employment Scheme.

Opposition lawmakers, in the provincial assembly, were continuously chanting slogans against the ruling government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Pakistan’s largest province by population.

Previously, in January 2017, a grant of 50% of the special allowance was made in basic pay to the employees of Civil Secretariat Punjab from BS-1 to BS-22.

It should be mentioned here that in federal budget for the fiscal year 2017-18, federal government s employees were given 10% increase in basic salaries and pensions. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had presented the annual Budget 2017-18 in the National Assembly on May 26.
