Islamabad condemns Kabul attack, prays for quick recovery of injured

Over 80 people were killed, hundreds wounded in massive explosion in Kabul's diplomatic quarter

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Foreign Office has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Kabul on Wednesday morning that caused deaths of at least 80 people with over 250 injured.

Kabul blast has also caused damage to the residences of some Pakistani diplomats and staff, living in the close vicinity, and inflicted minor injuries to some.

As many as 80 people were killed and hundreds wounded in explosion on Kabul’s diplomatic quarter. Also, heavy damage of property was caused in the terrorist attack in which diplomats of various countries were injured,

"Pakistan being a victim of terrorism understands the pain and agony that such incidents inflict upon the people and society," said Islamabad in its press release. It added the Pakistan government extends its full support and expresses sympathies as well as deepest condolences to the people of Afghanistan and its government. 

Foreign Office stated that Pakistan denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, adding prayers for the quick recovery of those injured in the terrorist attack. "We firmly stand with our Afghan brothers in this hour of grief and anguish," Islamabad told Kabul. 

FO spokesperson Nafees Zakria said damage was caused to the residences of a few Pakistani envoys who live in close vicinity of the area. Also, some Pakistani diplomats were reportedly injured in the blast.
