Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and chairmen DMCs demanded to dissolve Solid Waste Management Board.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh High Court (SHC) has Tuesday issued notices for June 1 to all stakeholders over Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and chairmen District Municipal Corporations’ (DMCs) constitutional petition against Solid Waste Management Board.

Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and chairmen DMCs in their application demanded to dissolve Solid Waste Management Board, and took the stance that instead of cleaning the trash, the board has converted the city into garbage dumpsters.

It was stated in the petition that Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan had ordered to dissolve Solid Waste Management Board, and Sindh government is violating the apex court’s verdict by not doing that.

Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar said the city was not in such poor state during our tenure. Sindh government has made Karachi a pile of garbage, he said.
