LAHORE (Dunya News) – Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) have on Saturday demanded the resignation of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif till May 27.

The lawyers’ convention, which was called in the morning to demand the resignation of PM, witnessed chaos when the lawyers supporting government entered the hall, raised slogans in favor of Nawaz Sharif and tried to stop the convention.

The lawyers attending the convention also replied with anti-Nawaz slogans. Things did not stop here as both parties pushed each other, threw chairs, and broke glasses as well as locks of the hall.

Lawyers’ leaders demanded PM’s immediate resignation, and announced to spread the protests countywide afterwards. Furthermore, lawyers of Lahore High Court (LHC) staged a sit-in at GPO Chowk against those who created this strife.

The protesters made it clear that the campaign against prime minister has started from today. It was also announced that the second phase of lawyers’ moment will start after Ramazan. Meanwhile, traffic remained jammed due to the sit-in and people face trouble as a result.
