Pakistan to become Asian Tiger in next few years: PM Nawaz

Nawaz was briefed by the NHA officials on the progress of the project

NANKANA (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Wednesday said that Pakistan will become an Asian tiger and a strong economic power of the region in the next few years.

He let it be known after reviewing the construction site on Lahore-Abdul Hakeem M-3 motorway project in Nankana Sahib.

Upon his arrival, Nawaz was briefed by the NHA officials on the progress of the project that was started back in February 2016 and is expected to get completed by March 2018.

M-3 will connect with M-4 besides providing an alternate and direct route from Lahore to Multan.

Nawaz Sharif expressed that Pakistan will soon become  Asian Tiger  with the help mega infrastructure projects including motorways, expressways and highways that are being accomplished in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Gilgit Baltistan.

He claimed that the projects initiated by PML-N are unprecedented in the history of this country since no government has been able to take such grand initiatives.

The Prime Minister revealed at the occasion that the mega connectivity projects will connect Pakistan with central Asian countries and that speed and quality is also being ensured in accomplishment of these projects.

PM Nawaz let it be known that he would appreciate the opposition parties if they visit the under-construction motorway instead of pursuing their politics of agitation.

The premier requested the opposition to stop placing hurdles in the ongoing projects as it is the job of an elected government to serve the masses.

PM Nawaz also claimed that the apart from the infrastructure projects, the government has also successfully launched several power projects in order to add economical electricity to the national grid.

The prime minister vowed that the journey towards development will continue so as to ensure the brighter future for the youth of the country.
