Lagharis family had received an extortion call earlier

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Friends of former president Asif Ali Zardari, Ishfaq Laghari and Ghulam Qadir Marri who had ‘gone missing’ were recovered on Sunday in Turbat of Balochistan.

Law enforcement agencies recovered the two friends of Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman in Turbat along with their security guards and drivers. The two were abducted in different incidents in Karachi and Jamshoro.

Anti-violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of Sindh Police among law enforcement agencies recovered the two groups using an abductee’s mobile phone signals.

Laghari’s family received an extortion call after the abduction which, according to the LEAs, helped in the operation.

However, according to Senior Superintendent of Police of AVCC, Tariq Dheijo, ‘long negotiations with the criminals’ led to recovery of the two abducted friends of the former president. No arrests have been made so far in the case, he added.

It should be mentioned here that Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Federal Minister for Interior was alleged by Zardari in multiple addresses including those at rallies of having his friends abducted.
