The young poetess received injuries to head and back after falling from stage at literary festival

(Web Desk) - Renowned young poet and writer Farzana Naz passed away recently after receiving head and back injuries as she fell from the stage at National Book Foundation s (NBF) literature festival in the capital city.

The 36-year-old writer fell from a 12ft stage during the closing ceremony of a literature festival at Pak-China Friendship Hall in Islamabad. She was hurriedly transferred to the Shifa International Hospital in the capital and kept in intensive care room.

People were asked to pray for her recovery through multiple forums but she succumbed to the injuries and breathed her last yesterday. Her funeral took place today.



Farzana Naz is known for her collection of poems named "Hijrat Mujh Se Lipat Gayi". She has left behind two children. She studied from University of the Punjab in Lahore and had a master’s degree in Urdu language.
