Zardari is only worried because of PM Nawaz Sharif's politics in Sindh, says Railways Minister

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has on Monday said that the political opponents had crossed all the limits. He said that Panama Papers were worthless and that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Asif Ali Zardari was worried only because Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif was doing politics in Sindh, reported Dunya News.

Holding a press conference at Press Club in Lahore, Saad Rafique said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan had lost the case on all fronts since Supreme Court had rejected all seven of his claims. He declared the criticism of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) as an attempt to malign the party ahead of 2018 elections.

Saad Rafique said that the two judges who gave their verdict against the prime minister were respectable, though the party didn’t feel that their verdicts were not in accordance with the law. He said that the judgment of the judges could certainly be objected to. He added that Imran Khan had personally signed the decision to form the judicial commission and had committed that he’d accept the verdict.

“Imran Khan first ate sweets over the verdict and then wore a black band around his arm. We must be told what his real reaction was; black band or the sweets?” he said. He added that Imran Khan didn’t apologise for the lynching of Mashal Khan in Mardan, nor did Jamaat Islami (JI) chief Siraj ul-Haq raise his voice over the looting of Khyber Bank.

Taking Zardari head on, Saad Rafique said that the former president had looted the country and was knee deep in corruption. “We know how brave Zardari is. He can’t work, we know, but at least he should stop looting the country”, he said.

Terming him a ‘burden on the earth’, Saad Rafique said that Zardari shouldn’t be jealous enough to start challenging the national security. He added that the political parties were trying to use the lawyers supporting them in a movement against the government. “I’d request them not to do this because we have lawyers supporting us too”, he said.
