Colonel Commandant Lt Gen Ashfaq Nadeem Ahmad has retired

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of the Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa has paid a visit to Azad Kashmir regiment on Wednesday and installed Lieutenant General Hidayatur Rehman as the Colonel Commandant of Azad Kashmir Regiment.

Lieutenant Colonel Hidayatur Rehman was decorated in a ceremony organised at Azad Kashmir Regiment Centre, Mansar Camp over retirement of Colonel Commandant Lt Gen Ashfaq Nadeem Ahmad.

Media cell of the army, Inter-Services Public Relations reported that the army chief lauded regiment’s efforts for defence of the homeland. He mentioned that 3,842 soldiers of Azad Kashmir regiment rendered sacrifices of their lives for the sake of Pakistan.

The ceremony was attended by senior serving as well as retired officers of the regiment.

The army chief had paid a visit to Bahawalpur Garrison yesterday and inaugurated a Combined Military Hospital.
