The university administration has announced to launch action into the matter.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Educational activities have been continued as per routine at Punjab University’s new campus a day after clash between two student groups that injured more than 10 people.

According to details, the situation at the institute is normal now whereas the attendance of the students is less than usual.

Punjab Higher Education minister Syed Raza Ali Gilani said that the campus has been formed for getting education, not for fight.

We need to unearth the reality behind the recent scuffle in order to ensure smooth educational process in the university, he added.

Earlier, a brawl broke out between two groups during Pushtun Cultural Day event when the participants were dancing on their traditional tunes.

One group of student disrupted the ceremony and set the stalls on fire that led to the massive affray.

Heavy contingent of police arrived at the scene and used tear gas to disperse the students.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the event was organized after formal permission from the university whereas the attack was carried out by old students of Islami Jamiat.

The students also staged protest against each other at PMG chowk and demanded action into the matter.
