Karachi: Rangers recover cache of weapons from Go Aish Park

The recovered weapons included hand grenades, SMGs, latest rifles and thousands of bullets

KARACHI (Dunya News) – A huge cache of weaponry was recovered on Tuesday from Go Aish Park s storeroom beside University Road by the law enforcement agencies. According to reports, the terror groups were planning to organize a major attack in Sindh’s provincial capital.

Rangers spokesperson stated that the weapons were hidden by the son-in-law of MQM London’s leader Muhammad Anwar, adding that the arms could have been used to disturb Karachi’s peace.

The action was taken after receiving secret information. The weapons put in sacks were hidden in underground storeroom of the park. The cache contained one MMG gun, 18 SMG guns, two repeaters, six 7mm rifles, twenty thousand bullets, 10 explosives, four hand grenades and more.

In the past, cache of weapons was recovered from different areas of the city including Malir, Liaquatabad, Lyari, Orangi Town, Baldia Town and Azizabad. These weapons belonged to the militant wing of MQM as well as to the criminals involved in Karachi gang wars.
