State Bank Governor Ashraf Wathra replied that it is not their duty to launch investigation

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A session was held by the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue in which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar expressed rage on State Bank for not investigating illegal transfer of money outside the country.

He told him that no data has been provided concerning investors in Dubai. At this, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor replied that everyone knows how the money is taken outside the country. “It’s not the duty of SBP to investigate the matter”, he added.

The PTI leader claimed that billions of rupees have been transferred outside Pakistan at which State Bank has not taken any action. “SBP never allowed any individual to buy property in a foreign country”, Wathra replied.

Asad Umar stated that state institutions have failed monitoring the illegal transfer of money outside the country.
