Cardiology hospital's ward suddenly caught fire, smoke filled the rooms, several went unconscious

MULTAN: (Dunya News) – Cardiology hospital’s cardiac center room on Tuesday caught fire. Smoke filled the room due to which several went unconscious. The relatives of the patients kept running for a safe place, carrying them in their hand, reported Dunya News.

The fire could be seen from quite a distance. The patients found it even more difficult to move out of the hospital as the emergency exits were closed.

A room in the private cardiac center caught fire and the fire immediately spread to the second and third floors. The patients and their relatives were terrified by the incident and several went unconscious as the smoke filled the rooms.

The relatives of the patients complained that they were unable to exit the hospital as the emergency exits were closed. Hospital’s air conditioning plant was also burnt to ashes.

Rescue and fire brigade teams controlled the fire after two hours of effort. The patients of the ward were shifted to the other wards. MS Dr Zafar Alvi told that the room caught fire due to short circuit.
