The opposition has appealed the speaker to forward the reference to Election Commission.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) filed a reference with the Punjab Assembly secretary on Friday seeking disqualification of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The reference was submitted to the secretary Rai Mumtaz due to the absence of the speaker in assembly secretariat.

Various leaders of PTI including opposition leader Mehmoodur Rasheed, Aijaz Chaudhry and other MNAs signed the reference.

The reference has declared the relocation of family’s two sugar mills - Chaudhry Sugar Mill and Ittefaq Sugar Mill – to Rahim Yar Khan as illegal.

It has accused that CM Punjab is obliged to pay $17.5 million as affirmed by the London court in March 16, 1999.

The reference has also laid blame of Al-Taufiq Bank matters on the chief minister.

The opposition has appealed the speaker to forward the reference to Election Commission under article-63 so that CM Punjab could be disqualified.
