Panama Leaks case: Tax evasion allegations incorrect, says PM's lawyer

PMs counsel said that Maryam Nawaz is not dependent of Nawaz Sharif.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer Makhdoom Ali Khan on Wednesday said that the tax evasion allegations leveled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are incorrect.

A five-member larger bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa resumed the hearing of Panama Papers case. Other judges in the bench include Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan.

While continuing the arguments, PM’s counsel said that Maryam Nawaz is not dependent of Nawaz Sharif.

He said exchange of gifts and money between the premier and his children took place through proper channel.

Meanwhile, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa remarked that normally, black money is made white after sending it abroad and bringing it back.
