PM directs to ensure zero load shedding on Christmas Day
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ordered the ministry ensure uninterrupted power supply.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday ordered the Ministry of Water & Power to ensure zero load shedding across the country in the wake of Christmas celebrations on Sunday.
Implementation of this order will be a challenging task for the concerned authorities as power situation has further aggravated due to foggy conditions in plain areas of the country.
Earlier on Friday night, power supply was suspended to several areas in Punjab due to dense fog.
Routine life was badly affected in the absence of power supply and subsequent water shortage in homes. Most of the people were already reeling under low or no supply of natural gas due to lingering crises of gas scarcity, making life even worse.
According to Met Office, foggy conditions are likely to prevail over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hour.
