Sindh CM refutes sending IG police on forced leave

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday refuted claims that he has placed Inspector General (IG) of police AD Khawaja on forced leave.

Speaking to journalists at NED University, Murad Ali Shah clarified that the provincial government hasn’t sent IG Sindh on forced leave. He has sought leaves by himself, he added.

To a question, Murad Ali Shah said no one else but the Chief Minister takes the final decision.

Earlier today, when asked about sending of Sindh IG on forced leave, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar said Inspector General (IG) AD Khawaja was an honest officer who contributed a lot towards restoration of peace in Karachi.

He regretted Sindh government’s move to send him on forced leave, stating that the province has witnessed change due to AD Khawaja’s efforts.
