The sacrifice was offered out of the fear looming over ATRs

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan International Airline (PIA) offered sacrifice of a black goat on Sunday to avert any untoward incident as a flight was to take off at Benazir International Airport for Multan.

The development came in after the national airline permitted ATR planes to carry on with flight operations after they were grounded following a crash of PK-661 flight from Chitral to Islamabad on December 7 killing 48 onboard.

The sacrifice was offered out of the fear looming over ATRs.

A day earlier, PK-581 flight caught fire while on the runway as it was to depart for Karachi. Spokesperson for the national airline, Daniyal Gilani said that temporary grounding of ATRs will affect operations to smaller airports including Gwadar, Turbat, Mohenjo Daro, Bahawalpur, Chitral, Gilgit-Baltistan, Panjgur and Dera Ghazi Khan among others.
