Seven persons dead, 8 injured in Dalbandin road accident

Bus and truck caught fire soon after collision.

DALBANDIN (Dunya News) – Seven people were killed and eight others injured in a horrific road accident in Balochistan’s Dalbandin city on Saturday.

According to rescue officials, fire erupted due to collision between a passenger bus and a truck in Gutlandi area of Dalbandin around 04:00 am. Seven people died on the spot while eight others were injured.



Three victims were identified as Pervaiz, Lakhmir and Malik Shah while bodies of other four persons were charred beyond recognition.

Four injured persons including Saeed Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Naimatullah and Muhammad Ghaffar were shifted to Quetta hospital in critical condition.



Chagai Deputy Commission confirmed that drivers of both vehicles were killed in the incident.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the accident took place due to truck driver’s negligence.

Deadly accidents are common on roads across Pakistan due to bad road infrastructure and rampant disregard of traffic laws. Over 9,000 road accidents are reported to the police every year, killing on average around 5,000 people, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
