Alleged terrorists confess to planning major attack in Karachi on 12 Rabi-ul-Awal

The terrorists belong to TTP's Mehsood Group.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Five terrorists arrested from Orangi Town’s Iqbal Market have confessed to planning a major terror attack in Karachi on 12th Rabi-ul-Awal.

During interrogation, the terrorists, belonging to banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s Mehsood Group, admitted before police that they received training in Afghanistan. They had completed recce of key locations in the city.

They also confessed to kidnapping children for ransom and demanding extortion from a factory owner in SITE area.


WEAPONS RECOVERED FROM HOUSE


Separately, Rangers personnel raided a house in Surjani Town area of Karachi and recovered huge cache of weapons.

Reportedly, the weapons were buried inside washroom of the house. The raid was conducted on a tip-off from the arrested suspects.

Further investigation is underway.
