ANP leader Haji Adeel passes away

Funeral prayers will be offered at 4.00 pm at Jinnah Park in Peshawar today.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Awami National Party (ANP) leader Senator Haji Muhammad Adeel passed away in Peshawar today (Friday) due to kidney failure.

Funeral prayers of the 72-year-old politician will be offered at 4.00 pm at Jinnah Park in Peshawar this evening.

Born on October 25 1944, Haji Muhammad Adeel s/o Hakeem Abdul Jalil was the leader of the Awami National Party in the Senate and senior vice president of the ANP.

He was also Member of National Executive Committee, Pakistan India People’s Forum For Peace And Democracy and Member Of National Steering Committee INSA (Imagine A New South Asia).

Previously, he remained member of provincial assembly in 1990, 1993, and 1997 and finance minister in NWFP provincial cabinet in 1993.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif expressed his heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of the seasoned politician.

Sympathizing deeply with the Haji Adeel’s family, the Prime Minister prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed soul with eternal peace and grant courage to the family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.

He said that the contributions and services of the late politician for strengthening of democracy in the country, are indeed praiseworthy.

The Prime Minister said that late Haji Muhammad Adeel believed and worked for promotion of democratic norms in Pakistan.
