Great enthusiasm was seen in parliament before and after Teyyep Erdogan's address to joint session

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has on Thursday said that Turkish president Teyyep Erdogan’s brave stance won the hearts of Pakistanis. Great enthusiasm was also seen in the parliament before and after the Turkish president’s address to the joint session, reported Dunya News.

All the parliamentary parties except Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) attended the session. Heads of the naval, air force and military were all present as guests in the gallery. Army chief General Raheel Sharif also shook hands with Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the occasion.

Several parliament members also shook hands with Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif as he entered the parliament. He kept talking to Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on the occasion. Teyyep Erdogan was given warm reception by the parliamentarians and the guests as he entered the house along with Speaker NA.

The joint session began with the national anthems of both the countries played. Qari Najam Mustafa recited the verses of Quran and also offered Naat. Turkish president concluded his address with a slogan of long-term friendship between Pakistan and Turkey. After the address, Turkish president shook hands with all the parliamentarians.

Addressing the session earlier, Ayaz Sadiq said that Turkey’s people bravely fought to save their constitution; the people and armies of both the countries fought terrorism with great valour.

He added that Erdogan’s courageous stance had won the hearts of Pakistanis. He said that India was setting new records of brutality in occupied Kashmir. He further added that India martyred seven Pakistani soldiers with unprovoked firing at Line of Control.
