ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Police have maintained before the court on Thursday that the department did not know about departure of Pervez Musharraf, former president, from the country until a team raided his residence after six months.
The revelation was made when court heard judges’ detention case against Musharraf today.
In a report submitted by the police, it was stated that a team raided farm house of the accused in Chak Shehzad area last week and it came to department’s knowledge that he had flown abroad after Supreme Court’s order.
The court maintained non-bailable arrest warrant of Pervez Musharraf and adjourned the hearing until November 22.
The detention case was registered on August 11, 2009 by the Secretariat Police Station on complaint of Advocate Chaudhry Mohammad Aslam.
He pleaded that 60 judges were detained by Musharraf for over five months at their residences and they were barred from administering justice following imposition of state of emergency in 2007 and thus the former dictator should be tried.
In a recent interview to The Atlantic in the United States, Musharraf professed army’s role in fleeing him abroad.

Pervez Musharraf fled the country in March this year, for alleged medical treatment. His name was omitted from the Exit Control List (ECL) in 2016 at least three years after he was slapped with a ban.
Different legal cases were pursued against him once he returned to the country in April 2013 after a self-imposed exile.
