Terrorist arrested near Radio Pakistan building in Peshawar, bomb recovered
The alleged terrorist was trained for a suicide attack, police said.
PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – A major terror bid was foiled in Peshawar today (Tuesday) as the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested a suspected terrorist and recovered a bomb from his possession, Dunya News reported.
According to police, alleged terrorist Rehman-ud-Din, a member of banned organisation Jamaat-ul-Ahrar from Upper Dir, was arrested near Radio Pakistan building on Bacha Khan Road. A bomb weighing two kilograms was also seized from his possession.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Rehman-ud-Din was trained for a suicide attack, police said.

Jamaat-ul-Ahrar has been behind several attacks in Pakistan in recent days, including a deadly attack on lawyers in Quetta last week and March bombing on Gulshan Iqbal Park in the eastern city of Lahore that killed at least 70 people.
Combing operations are underway across the country to bust terrorist sleeper cells and eliminate hiding terrorists.
During a raid by security forces in Barkat Town area Shahdara on the suburbs of Lahore on August 14, eleven suspects including two hardcore terrorists belonging to a banned militant outfit were nabbed.
Cache of arms and ammunition were also recovered.
Last week, six militants including two key terrorist commanders were arrested and cache of arms and ammunition including prepared IEDs were recovered during combing operation in Kallar Syedan and Gujjar Khan areas in Rawalpindi.
