PM Nawaz not worthy of his designation as he hid his assets: Lawyers of political parties

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday demanded clear evidences from the four political parties that submitted applications regarding the disqualification of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, reported Dunya News.

Arguments presented by the lawyers of the four political parties, including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Awami Muslim League (AML) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), were heard during the first hearing of the applications. The lawyers adopted the stance that PM Nawaz hid his assets and was therefore not worthy of his designation according to Article 62 and 63.

PAT lawyer brought up the discussion related to the Model Town incident, to which the ECP members remarked that no one can be disqualified until the trial gets held.

ECP demanded the political parties who filed the application against PM Nawaz to present clear evidences and postponed the hearing of the case till August 17.

Despite the hearing of the applications that lasted for several hours, it could not be established whether the applications were fit for being heard at the forum of ECP or not.
